Mediterraneo Bio Park, Malta
Mediterraneo Bio Park forms part of the EAAM (European Association of Aquatic Mammals) an organisation of people interested in marine mammals in human care, in a zoological environment or in the wild, and includes a number of professionals specialized in the field.
The strategy of the Park is to carry out research primarily on the conservation of marine species, this through research projects within and with other parks. The strategy also details educational programmes through interaction with the different species present in the Park whilst ensuring the highest standards in both animal welfare and animal health. The animals present in the Park are cared for by a number of professionals including animal carers, biologists and veterinary surgeons specialized in the various fields.
Mediterraneo Marine Park with its presentation of a variety of marine species, is one of Malta’s leading entertaining attractions for tourists and locals alike. In a tranquil setting offset by Mediterranean Sea, Mediterraneo Bio Park has created the right environment to reveal “the secrets of the sea”.
Besides dolphins, the park boast a large selection of different species including Sea Lions, Parrots, Green Wing Amazons, snakes, tortoises, turtles, frogs, toads, spiders, scorpions and lizards.
